Job Description:


Administers Windows 2000 Domain with less than 30 nodes.
Need administrator to troubleshoot Windows XP desktops and Windows 2000 servers to include IIS 5.0, Exchange 5.5, SQL 7.0 and Spam filter. Hardware and software support for Windows XP/2000 servers. Work Schedule: M-F: 8-5 is typical. On call as needed.


Principal Responsibilities:


1. Maintain support of Microsoft XP clients and Windows 2000 servers.

2. Maintain server communication operations between web server sites.

3. Ensure optimization and tuning of server, file systems, capacity planning and appropriate replication.

4. Maintain and administer file level backups and recovery procedures.

5. Administration and support of network including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Spam filter

6. Provide OS and anti virus updates and management.

7. Recommends and implements modifications to the server environment, including troubleshooting and replacement of faulty system hardware for servers and workstations.

8. Monitors and proactively responds to inbound and outbound system situations.

9. Disaster Recovery development, implementation, and disaster testing.

10. Troubleshooting connectivity related to distributed systems and host environments.

11. Participates in strategic planning and development associated with future design, performance, and capacity management with other operating organizations such as Systems Management and Applications Development.

12. Firewall experience a plus


Qualifications:


Windows and/or MCSE certifications preferred but not required


Experience:


2+ years experience with Windows 2000 Server

2+ years practical application of TCP/IP, DNS and Spam filter

Specialized:

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills

Proven ability to work on projects and support clients either individually or on a team

Solid project management skills

Perfect job for someone with a few years of experience wanting to learn to run their own Microsoft shop.
