Description of Services

Let us assist you in your hiring decision by providing you with a factual history on your applicants. We have dedicated our resources and staff to providing a fast, comprehensive and cost effective report to allow you to make a confidential assessment using our information technology network.

EDUCATION - PSA confirms ALL educational degrees attained, including dates attended, degree, major and grade point average. We have over 6,000 institutions in our database and on-line resources which are updated daily.

EMPLOYMENT - PSA verifies ALL previous employment submitted by the applicant. Areas of verification include dates of employment, position, salary, reason for leaving and eligibility for rehire. With the use of the PreScreen America Applicant Waiver, previous employers are more inclined to release the requested information.

CREDIT - PSA will obtain a credit bureau report allowing you to evaluate the applicant’s financial history. This provides an in-depth look at the applicant’s debt load, payment history, and any public record information (judgements, bankruptcies, liens).

SOCIAL SECURITY VERIFICATION - The applicant’s social security number is validated through our system indicating whether it is a valid number and the state of issuance. This step is mandatory for all cases we investigate and is provided at no charge to our clients.

CRIMINAL - PSA will search felony and/or misdemeanor criminal records in the counties where the applicant has resided. Records are available in over 3,300 counties in the United States. Records are searched using on-site resources at the county courthouses as opposed to databases which are less current. On-site information will generally list all offenses as well as disposition.

MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS - PSA will provide a driving record on your applicant to prevent placing a person with a poor driving history in a company vehicle. Whether your employee is running an errand in a company or private car, an employer is considered negligent if they hire a driver without checking previous MVR history. Records are available in all states and provide a 3 to 5 year driving history.

WORKERS COMPENSATION HISTORY - PSA strictly adheres to the guidelines set forth in Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Once a conditional offer has been made, PSA will provide information concerning the applicant’s history which would include type of injury, employer, date of injury and disposition while following the guidelines set forth in the ADA. Records are accessible in over 40 states. Those records assist employers in placing employees into the positions best suited to their physical abilities.

LICENSING - PSA confirms that the applicant’s professional licenses are accurate and current. These records are available at the state level in all states and the District of Columbia.

ORGANIZATIONS - PSA verifies any memberships or organizations the applicant belongs to confirming years of membership, any positions held, and current status.

PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES - ALL references are contacted to obtain data concerning the applicant’s previous employment information. We use this as a tool to discover additional employers and addresses on your applicant. The thoroughness and value of our references is significantly enhanced by our clients providing questions unique to their industry to assist us in conducting a more informed discussion with the references.

MILITARY - PSA will confirm ALL military service records through the main office in St. Louis. However, all attempts are made to contact commanding officers in order to obtain a professional and service reference. This will provide the employer with more detailed information not available through Central Records.

Employers concerned with negligent hiring and retention suits find that most cases are based on whether the applicant had a pre-employment screening completed prior to being hired. A complete background check including all of the above sources has been useful in reducing potential problem employees.

Pre-employment investigations support an employer's position of having used all resources available to protect and insure public safety for the general public as it relates to individuals with a history of criminal activity or poor employment - the key requirement of OSHA.

PreScreen America, a nationwide company, offers a comprehensive, flat fee background investigation process for your potential employees. All investigators are fully licensed and insured. Our unique PreScreenALL™ approach to offering a comprehensive report for a set fee totally eliminates budget concerns. The only variable you have is the number of screenings you submit. You will receive a 48-72 hour QwikScreen™ at no additional charge. Please call our Sales Department for further information at 817-861-6666. We will be happy to send you information and provide a presentation to your company at your convenience.
