Unique Features

PSA's uncommon approach to the prescreening process - particularly its innovative use of information technology - raises expectations and redefines the standard of service. It is the standard of excellence to which PreScreen America performs every aspect of its wide-ranging services, including:

PSA provides a comprehensive report including ALL of the educational institutions, ALL employers, and ALL references listed on the applicant's resume and/or application. We also complete a search of ALL counties within which the applicant has resided during the last 7 years. Our PreScreenALL™ concept assists employers in complying with OSHA requirements of making a reasonable effort to provide a safe workplace for employees. We provide a background investigation on ALL of the information provided in the application or resume. Typically vendors contact only the most recent 2 or 3 employers, investigate only the most recent county where the applicant resided, and the most recent educational institution. Clients desiring thorough background investigations incur additional charges relating to investigating all counties, more employers, and all educational degrees. Also, vendors typically add on "mandatory court fees" to their pricing.

  • Client systems including scanner

Each client is provided with the ability to communicate with our offices via a secured Internet web site. We supply disks and an instruction manual to easily install the scripts necessary for transmission and retrieval. You may choose from the options of  Internet access, which includes a Visioneer Paperport™ scanner - or fax.

  • No data entry required

As opposed to our clients needing to data enter all of the applicant and preemployment screening request information, clients simply scan the application/resume and then use one of the methods of transmission to send. (Internet or fax). For clients with high volume, this eliminates the time, errors and costs associated with data entry.

Each client is provided with training for their staff which includes the transmission and retrieval of information. Our IT Help Desk is available to assist with any technical questions concerning the systems. All instruction packets are provided at the initial training and are also accessible through the Internet. Quite frankly, case submission training requires a total of about ten minutes.

PreScreen America provides each of their clients with a client representative. This individual maintains your case log and will respond to any inquiries you may have. The Client Representative is familiar with the types of reports you request and the system you are using to access information. This approach also provides a single point of contact in our offices for you.

PSA provides a 48-72 hour QwikScreen™ on each applicant at no additional charge. This provides you with quick, initial information to assist in your hiring decision. Our investigators focus on the education, employment, criminal and motor vehicle information in this report. Additional information is received and provided in a PreScreen Plus™ (the full, completed) report within 5 business days of original case submission. In cases where authorization letters have been required by information sources, this allows for receiving mailed hard copy information. Followups on any pending information are forwarded upon receipt and the case is closed if information has not been received within 30 days of the initial case submission date.

  • On-site criminal checks

PreScreen America uses researchers throughout the United States to access criminal record information on site from the courthouses. This method of retrieving information may take a little longer, however, the search is totally current and provided in writing. Databases can be a faster means of accessing the records, but the information is usually outdated and incomplete. Our researchers will pull and send the criminal history record to our investigative staff for assessment. PSA applies a three criteria rule to eliminate inaccurate reporting of criminal records on individuals.

In response to client requests, PSA has adopted a policy of providing a set fee for all preemployment background investigations. We can provide you with a menu of screening options or packages - but, once established, your cost will not vary!

Have you ever been frustrated with your vendor's bill? Do you get pages and pages of costs - so much so that you have given up on even auditing the invoice? With PreScreen America's set fee, billing is completed without pages of detailed additional charges. There are no additional charges. Each client receives an invoice with applicant names, case numbers and the set fee for the cases. And, your invoice is sent to you electronically each month as an email attachment with hard copies mailed on request. Your billing is timely and simple to review.

We have made the process of tracking applicants extremely easy for you. You can simply check the status of your cases by visiting our secured web site. This summary includes the date and time the case was sent to us, the applicant's name, case number, and the dates the QwikScreen™ and PreScreen Plus™ reports are due to you. Our clients appreciate the accessibility of this status summary and the resulting decrease in phone calls which need to be made to be advised of case status.

  • Report delivery system

  • When a case is ready to be reported, our proprietary case management system automatically generates an email notification to you. That email tells you the case number, the name of the applicant and the type of report that is ready for pick up. Included in the email is a link to our web site where you can log in and print or download the case report. These reports are available for 30 days after the date of the closing of the case after which they are archived out of the Case Log. However, archived cases are simply a click away and are maintained in our system for a period of two years. So, you have 100% of your preemployment background screenings available, on-line, for two full years - and you never have to make a call to get the reports!

    • No contract or deposits

PreScreen America requires only thirty days notice to terminate support. We offer this approach because we only want you to use us as long as you are satisfied with our service.  An agreement is provided to each of our clients summarizing our use of 3rd party resources in accessing background investigation information.
